David Krikorian Rallies Volunteers For Big Race

Democrats and Republicans Ring the Bell for Krikorian

David Krikorian began his campaign with a volunteer rally in his home-neighborhood of Madeira this past Sunday. Krikorian, a small business owner, Independent candidate, was endorsed and introduced by Thor Jacobs, a former Democratic primary candidate for the seat, and Ed Rothenberg, a noted Republican who is seeking election to the Hamilton County Commission.

"Although we all have different political views, we all agree that we need to come together to defeat Jean Schmidt," Krikorian said, "Our country is facing recessionary economic headwinds including higher unemployment, slowing growth and inflation pressures. What does Schmidt offer the second district in the way of leadership on these basic issues? We need a change in management immediately because it's obvious to me that no one is watching the store. I have experience creating companies and putting people to work. I have an extensive background in finance, economics and business management. The second district deserves a representative who understands complex financial issues and who can present honest, creative and effective solutions to the challenges we are facing. That is why I'm running for office, and why people from all political parties and positions are coming out to support my campaign."

Congresswoman Schmidt has had a difficult time holding this traditionally Republican seat, barely winning re-election in 2006.

"John Glenn, Rob Portman-Ohio has produced some great leaders," Krikorian continued, "but Jean Schmidt has tarnished their legacy. We need to restore the dignity and independent, bi-partisan thinking that Ohio is known for."

Krikorian also announced that he has begun adding staff and recently signed a lease on a campaign office, to be opened early next month.
