Issue Position: Iraq

Like many folks in Southern Indiana, I am extremely frustrated by the stay-the-course strategy in Iraq that has dominated this Administration. We have tried several times and in several ways to get this Administration to outline a clear exit strategy from Iraq, but those efforts have rendered futile. Our troops have performed magnificently, and ensuring their safety is my utmost concern. However, American soldiers cannot, and should not, act as police officers. The Iraqi people must step up to the plate and take control of their own destiny.

The War in Iraq has unarguably strained our military and diverted our attention from Afghanistan and the larger War on Terror. I believe we must redeploy our troops to the front lines of terrorism throughout the world.
