Republican 'All of the Above' Energy Plan Moving Forward in Congress

On Tuesday, House Democrats admitted that the Republican 'All of the Above' energy plan for America is the best choice for the future of our energy independence.
This comes three months after the Republican-proposed plan was introduced, and after many remarks from House Speaker Pelosi that such a plan would never pass. House Republicans have fought for months to end the outdated bans on American energy production, and the capitulation by Democrats today is a big victory for Americans struggling with record gasoline prices.
Since the Spring, Republicans have worked together toward an 'All of the Above' energy plan that increases production of American energy in an environmentally-responsible way to help reduce gas prices. Day in and day out, the environmentalist interest groups who run the Democratic Congress blocked our efforts - until this week, that is, when they realized they could not defy the will of the American people any longer.
The House will allow the offshore drilling ban to expire, which I believe is a crucial step toward American energy independence. While this victory on offshore and oil shale energy production adds momentum to our efforts, we still have more work ahead to pass an energy plan that the American people support and deserve and prevent liberal activists from reconstituting the ban. House Republicans will keep up the fight and stand our ground.
This announcement is a step in the right direction, but it is far from a solution to our nation's energy crisis. We must demand energy policy that will include coal, nuclear, coal-to-liquids, renewables, and support for new ways to power automobiles. We are dependent on foreign crude oil and must deal with our current situation and drill domestically to achieve lower prices.
