SENATE CONFIRMS ARGUELLO, BRIMMER TO DISTRICT COURT
Today, the United States Senate unanimously confirmed Philip Brimmer and Christine Arguello, nominees for appointment to the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. The nominees have now been confirmed to lifetime appointments on the court.
"Christine Arguello and Philip Brimmer will serve with distinction on the court," said Sen. Salazar. "I thank Chairman Leahy and Ranking Member Specter for working with me and with Senator Allard to confirm these two highly-qualified nominees so late in the session. This is a proud day for them and for all us. I congratulate them both and know they will serve the cause of justice with honor."
"Today is a monumental day in that we avoided a judicial disaster by confirming Philip Brimmer and Christine Arguello to the Colorado federal district bench, said Sen. Allard. "Senator Salazar and I have worked diligently together and I am pleased to finally see this day. These are two highly-qualified individuals deserving of this confirmation. However, Colorado still has a bench vacancy and I'm hopeful that early next year the new Administration, Senator Salazar and the future Senator of Colorado will work expeditiously to fill that seat."
