Columbus Dispatch - Bailout Vote Divides Both Parties In Ohio

Ohio lawmakers were as split yesterday over the proposed $700 billion bailout bill as the rest of their colleagues in the House: Ten of the state's 17 representatives voted "no" on the package.

GOP Rep. Deborah Pryce of Upper Arlington, who voted for the plan, said that although "$700 billion is a bitter pill to swallow ... our economy is pretty sick."

Still, Pryce said after the vote that the bill was "probably doomed" when it was sent to Capitol Hill by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson with such a hefty price tag. "It was overbilled and undersold," Pryce added.
