Jack Martins Calls for Congress to Hold an Immediate Vote on Offshore Oil Drilling

Jack Martins who is running for the congressional seat in the 4th district of New York stated "When Representative McCarthy, Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats were running for office in 2006 they said they would do something about the high price of Gasoline." Gas was about $2.20 a gallon when Rep. McCarthy, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats took over Congress.

Jack Martins further stated "They've done something alright. Under Rep. McCarthy and the Democrats the price has doubled. Not only is gas over $4.00 a gallon, but the cost of home heating oil is close to $5.00 a gallon. With winter coming and our seniors needing relief, Rep. McCarthy still isn't sure if she wants to allow us to drill for oil. The Chinese and the Cubans are drilling for oil near Cuba, the Mexican Government is allowing drilling in the gulf, does Rep McCarthy really believe that these other governments have higher safety standards for drilling than our own! It's well beyond time for Rep. McCarthy, Nancy Pelosi and the rest of their ilk to stand with the American people instead of the special interest groups that fund them."

Jack Martins further stated that he wants Congress to reconvene and get back to work until they offer relief to the people they are supposed to represent.
