Kingston condemns terrorist atrocity

Location: Washington DC

WASHINGTON, DC - In an announcement today, Congressman Jack Kingston (R/GA-1) decried the murder of American Nicholas E. Berg, an independent civilian contractor. Yesterday, an Iraqi website released a video of Berg being brutally killed by a savage group of Al Qaeda rebels, led by known terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
The following is Congressman Kingston's statement:

"The horrific killing of Nicholas Berg by these murderous terrorists is beyond disgust. These evil-loving Sadaam supporters must be hunted down and brought to justice.

"To those serving US interests in Iraq, whether military or civilian, be reassured of our strengthened support for the War on Terror. Congress will not be intimidated by a rouge group of masked cowards. We will not cut and run. We will continue to provide all the necessary resources for the War on Terror until every threat is destroyed."

"It has been suggested that the killing of Mr. Berg was in response to the mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners by Americans at the Abu Ghraib prison. Although I condemn the Abu Ghraib abuses and am extremely disgusted by the actions of the guards at fault, I strongly disagree with the notion that the abuses are the reason for Mr. Berg's death. As we all discovered with 9-11 and with Daniel Pearl's murder, the terrorists do not need a reason to kill.

"I offer my sincere condolences to Mr. Berg's family, and I will keep them and every single American fighting for freedom in my prayers."
