Issue Position: Waking up Washington on Spending and Taxes
With the state of the economy, Americans are tightening their belts and the government should do the same. Nick believes Kansans should keep more of what they earn and would vote to make the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts permanent. This year, Dennis Moore voted for a federal budget that increases government spending to all-time record levels and paves the way for a six hundred eighty-three billion dollar tax increase - the largest in American history - that will cost the average family in our community an additional $2,422 a year in taxes. In the State Senate, Nick Jordan voted against his own party's budget when it got too big and he will do the same in Congress as he fights to keep taxes low, reign in spending and get our economy moving again.
