Third Congressional District Candidate Dina Titus released the following statement today urging Democrats and Republicans to put politics aside and work together to pass a comprehensive energy bill.
"I am encouraged that the House will debate an energy package that takes critical steps to address high gas prices and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. The bill, which includes a number of provisions I have called for in my energy plan, such as offshore drilling, releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, and investing in renewable energy, provides a real opportunity to address these important issues.
"I hope that Democrats and Republicans, including Jon Porter, will finally work together to pass a comprehensive bill that provides relief for Nevadans who are struggling to make ends meet due to the price at the pump, places our nation on a path to energy independence, and prevents Nevada from becoming a nuclear waste dumping ground. It's time for real leadership and real solutions, not more gimmicks aimed at scoring political points at the expense of the American people."
