I was born in Minnesota but I have lived in Michigan since I was six years old. I am married and I have five children. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University. I served in the U. S. Army and spent one year in South Vietnam. I retired after working for the State of Michigan for over 26 years. I worked for the Departments of Community Health, Education, and Human Services. I was an active AFSCME and UAW member, and I have held several union offices. Besides working for the State of Michigan I have worked on farms, in factories, for Michigan Bell Telephone, and for the U. S. Post Office.

I have been voting Green since 2000 and have been an active Green Party Member since 2002. I was a Green Party candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2002 and 2004. I would like to be your Green Party candidate for the U.S. Senate this year. I believe it is very important that we as Greens make Peace, Jobs, and Justice the main focus of this year's campaign.

When I ran for Congress in 2002 I was opposed to starting a war in Iraq. When I ran in 2004, I was for the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops form Iraq. I have been in the Peace Movement since becoming active in Viet Nam Veterans Against the War in 1968. My campaign focus would be to bring U.S. troops home immediately.

In addition, I would campaign for Fair Trade, in order to bring back jobs to our country, and would stress the need to provide more educational opportunities and health benefits for everyone.
