Congressman Joe Crowley has a 100 percent score from the Human Rights Campaign, the United States' largest gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender lobbying group.

Queens Pride, Queen's largest gay and lesbian civic group, has recognized Congressman Joe Crowley as a leader on equal rights.

Joe Crowley is a supporter of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, Hate Crimes Legislation and legislation to allow for the immigration of permanent partners of US residents.

He has opposed allowing Federal funding to go to religious groups, which discriminate against gay and lesbian employees.

Congressman Joe Crowley is part of a "whip" or vote counting team to defeat the Federal Marriage Amendment.
