"I believe that the work of government is to create economic opportunities to help the families of the Bronx and Queens--not provide tax cuts to millionaires"

Under President Bush and the Republican Congress 3 million Americans have lost their jobs.

As a United States Congressman, Joe Crowley has been working in Congress for an economic growth plan that is fair, fast acting, and fiscally responsible, providing opportunities for all New Yorkers.

He has voted against President Bush's billion dollar tax cut, which gives the majority of the benefits to people making over $200,000. Joe Crowley supports tax relief targeted to the middle class and working families.

Workers in the Bronx and Queens should be able to depend on their Congressman to help create new opportunities for their children and a secure retirement for their parents.

Federal policies need to provide affordable health coverage, guarantee overtime pay for those working extra hours, ensure unemployment insurance if they are ever laid off, and protect pensions and 401(k) plans.

In Washington, Joe Crowley will continue to fight the Republicans who delay extending unemployment benefits, raise taxes on working families, and increase the cost of living and doing business in New York City.
