The Center for Medicare and Medicaid is currently facing several difficult challenges from inadequate funding, to operational changes that would reduce quality and access. I am committed to finding solutions that will allow these programs to provide services to seniors, children, and vulnerable populations.
Congress must begin to explore solutions that will lead to more sound management of Medicare and Medicaid. These programs are critical to having a comprehensive health care system and we cannot fail in this task. Millions of Americans rely on Medicare and Medicaid for their health care needs and millions more will need these programs at some point in their lives. We must work towards enhancing Medicare and Medicaid benefits so that no one has to choose between basic necessities and the health care they need.
