Issue Position: Second Amendment Rights

Federal gun control is a widely debated topic on Capitol Hill and is consistently a target of pro gun control activist groups.

As my voting record shows, I do not support efforts by Congress to deny citizens the right to bear arms. I am a firm believer in the Second Amendment to the Constitution which reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." I will therefore oppose any gun control legislation as well as support repeals of existing gun control laws.

I have consistently received the highest ratings from the National Rifle Association and the Gun owners of America.

Law-abiding citizens should not have their Second Amendment Rights infringed upon in any way. I am working hard with my colleagues to shift the focus on the criminal and not law abiding gun owners

As a hunter and proud member of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus I will continue to hold up justifiable reasons for owning and carrying a firearm, such as protection and recreation.
