Governor Huntsman Remembers Crandall Canyon Victims and Families
Governor Jon Huntsman issued the following statement today remembering the victims and families of the Crandall Canyon Mine disaster that occurred one year ago:
"Last year on this day, our State held its breath in hope that our miners would emerge alive. After many anxious days that hope wasn't realized. What has occurred is an ongoing outpouring of love and support for those the miners and would-be rescuers left behind. We will never forget the families and friends of those who perished," Governor Jon Huntsman said. "Our actions as a State going forward will ensure that we do everything we can to make certain those who continue to mine coal will be as safe as possible."
