Issue Position

Our nation is at a crossroads where we must fight to close the gap between energy demand and supply through increased production and conservation; yet we must also develop economically viable sources of renewable energy.

One of my primary goals in Congress is to encourage and support the development of renewable energy technologies. Energy independence in our nation should be a national priority and goal similar to President Kennedy's challenge to land a man on the moon. I am proud of the fact that I've made the investment of significant resources to renewable energy technologies a top priority. It's one of the first votes I had the privilege of making as your Congressman

Colorado has the opportunity to be the leader in developing renewable energy resources. At the local, state and federal levels, we have the opportunity to work in a bipartisan manner to institute real changes demonstrating our commitment to the development of renewable energy technologies. This investment is critical for our national security, our climate and creating new jobs.
