Issue Position

As a father of three girls, I know how important it is that we protect our children. As a member of Congress, I will be a strong advocate for laws that will keep our kids safe whether it be in our schools, in our communities, or online. I will push for laws that crack down on online predators and keep violent video games that are intended only for a mature audience away from minors. I will also fight for national background checks on all new school teachers and will partner with our law enforcement and school officials to fully fund policing, drug intervention and after school programs that the Clinton Administration put forth and the Bush Administration has unaccountable slashed.

I will fight to implement and support programs that will:

* Prevent and Reduce Drug Related Crimes

* Track Down and Lock-up Sexual Predators

* Confront Gang Violence

* Keep Kids Safe on the Internet from Online Predators

* Restrict the Marketing and Sales of Violent Video Games to Minors

* Support Effective After School Programs

* Create a National Criminal Background Check for the Hiring of Teachers

Protecting our children in an increasingly dangerous digital age should be one of our nation's highest priorities. I will work tirelessly to address the challenges our communities face in keeping our children safe.
