Issue Position: Protecting the Sanctity of Life
Lindsey Graham has compiled a strong pro-life voting record in the U.S. Senate. Graham was named South Carolina Citizens for Life 2006 Legislator of the Year for his support and work to implement the pro-life agenda on both the state and federal levels.
Graham is the original author of the Unborn Victims of Violence Act which recognizes the mother and unborn child as victims when they are injured or killed during the commission of a federal crime.
Graham has voted the pro-life position an average of 96 percent of the time during his service in the Senate. His year-by-year pro-life ratings from the respected National Right to Life Committee were 91 percent in 2003-2004 and 100 percent in 2005-2006.
