BIDEN Statement on Eve of Independence Day
U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. (D-DE) issued the following statement today in honor of Independence Day on Friday, July 4th, 2008:
"As we celebrate the character, foresight and courage of our founding fathers this Independence Day, we must also honor those who are away from their families serving our nation overseas. Here at home, many Delawareans will wake up and spend this July 4th while their loved ones are at war. These military families - asked to make such a tremendous sacrifice for love of country - truly represent the values that have shaped America's strength and prosperity for over two centuries. We cannot forget their utter determination, in the face of such immense challenges, just like the generations of brave men and women before them. Our nation owes our soldiers, and their families, an immeasurable debt of gratitude."
Senator Biden will be attending the Laurel Parade TONIGHT, July 3rd, and on July 4th will be in Smyrna-Clayton in the morning, Hockessin in the afternoon, and Newark in the evening.
