Luetkemeyer Pledges to Fight For Health Care Solutions for 9th District
In another example of his leadership on issues important to the 9th Congressional District, Republican Blaine Luetkemeyer has signed a pledge to fight in Congress for affordable health care and committing to protect the long-term financial security of his constituents.
Luetkemeyer signed the DividedWeFail.org pledge stating that he will work across party lines to support legislation that seeks to provide people with access to quality, affordable health care; strengthen Social Security; provide greater access to retirement plans; and develop policies that ensure all workers, regardless of age, can continue to work and contribute to society.
"The people of the 9th Congressional District are tired of the stalemate in Congress over important issues like health care and long-term financial security, which is why I have pledged to fight for their interests and not special interests in Washington," Luetkemeyer said. "We must address these important priorities in order to improve the quality of life for residents of the 9th District."
Luetkemeyer already has proposed ways to improve health care including calling on Congress to create market-based solutions that encourage competition among health care providers and maximize personal choice for individual recipients. Luetkemeyer also supports health care tax credits and deductions that level the playing field while encouraging more competition in health care, and promoting health savings accounts and small business plans.
DividedWeFail.org is a joint effort of the AARP, Business Roundtable, Service Employees International Union and National Federation of Independent Business to promote bi-partisan solutions that ensure affordable, quality health care and long-term financial security.
