Our founding fathers established this country on the principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. One such liberty is the freedom to worship as we please. In fact, freedom of worship is one of the primary differences between free countries like the United States and many of the dictatorships around the world.

As a supporter of pro-family and pro-faith legislation, I'm concerned about the social direction of our country. Too often, local governments and courts are infringing on our right to worship freely, despite the fact that almost every state in the union has chosen to acknowledge God within its state constitution. Courts have attempted to ban holiday decoration from school events, and remove the words "in God we trust" from our currency. I find these actions deeply troubling and against the freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution.

As always, I support legislation that gives parents, families, and local leaders the authority to make decisions regarding their own communities.
