In Oregon and across America let us remember the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed in defense of our nation and our freedom. For the thousands upon thousands that have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their lives to defend America, we owe them a debt we can never repay.

Now more than ever it is critical that our nation rededicates itself to fulfilling the commitment we made to our veterans and men and women in uniform. To honor their sacrifice America must always be slow to put our soldiers in harm's way and quick to honor their sacrifice when they return home. Our veterans and men and women in uniform deserve immediate and lasting attention.

Let us remember the sacrifice of our soldiers not just today, but on all 365 days of the year. Let us honor their service and ensure the benefits and opportunity they deserve.
