White House Nominates Rankin for U.S. Attorney
Enzi pleased with President Bush's decision

President Bush has selected Kelly Rankin, Wyoming's current Assistant U.S. Attorney from Casper, as his nominee for the state's open U.S. Attorney position, according to Wyoming's senior U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.

"Kelly Rankin is an excellent nominee for Wyoming's U.S. Attorney. In his work as Assistant U.S. Attorney, he has gained invaluable experience that has prepared him to step up and take on this new role," Enzi said. "I am confident in his abilities to lead the state's prosecution team and hope the Senate Judiciary Committee will promptly move forward with approving his nomination."

Enzi, as the state's senior senator, submitted Rankin's name to the White House as a potential nominee last June. The senator will now make his official recommendation of Rankin to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which must approve the President's nomination. Once voted out of committee, Rankin's nomination moves to the full Senate for confirmation.
