Democratic State Representative Don Cazayoux announced today that he is proud to have the endorsement of area police and firefighters in his race for Congress in Louisiana's 6th Congressional District.

Local 557 of the Baton Rouge Firefighters as well as the International Association of Firefighters endorsed Cazayoux's campaign.

Local 237 of the Baton Rouge Union of Police as well as the International Union of Police Associations endorsed Cazayoux's campaign.

The International Union of Police cited Cazayoux's support of stronger laws against sexual predators and support of strengthening the Louisiana Police Officer's Bill of Rights as key reasons for the endorsement.

"I am proud to earn the endorsement of the Police Officers and Firefighters who serve our community so bravely, said Cazayoux. "I've stood with our police officers and firefighters by voting for a pay increase last year and I've always worked closely with them to ensure they have the tools they need to keep our families and community safe"
