The Ben R. Luján for Congress Campaign submitted thousands of petition signatures to the Secretary of State's office on Tuesday to file as an official candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives District 3 Democratic nomination.
In filing the signatures, gathered from every country across New Mexico's 3rd District, Lujan said he is running for Congress to bring New Mexico values to Washington. "I have worked hard and produced results for New Mexico consumers and our environment on the Public Regulation Commission, and in Congress I will continue to fight for and protect the interests of the people of New Mexico and the progressive values that we care so much about," he said.
Ben R. Lujan is a New Mexico Public Regulation Commissioner and former PRC chairman. He is a leading proponent for increased renewable-energy production and has been a strong advocate for New Mexico consumers' rights. His PRC district includes much of Northern New Mexico and many of the counties in Congressional District 3.
