I have consistently opposed legislation that would compel employees to join unions, and will carefully examine any legislation that would compromise an employee's right to choose his or her representation. For the most part, there are already existing laws and regulations that protect the rights of employees in their occupations. Thanks to the free market, individuals also have a choice in choosing the occupation that they feel best suits their needs, whether that be wages or working conditions.

I support programs that continue to help lower-income and other individuals achieve job training success. Some of these programs include youth and adult job training and coaching, dislocated worker programs, youth job corps programs and grants, and workforce training for U.S. veterans.
