Cort Attends Iowa Straw Poll, Holds Counter-terrorism Conference

Birmingham, AL (August 13, 2007) - Counter-terrorism expert, author and candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, Dr. Hugh Cort, wrapped up another campaign swing through Iowa over the weekend.

Friday night Dr. Cort held a counter-terrorism conference with internationally recognized counter-terrorism expert and author of "The Day of Islam" Dr. Paul L. Williams. Dr. Williams informed those in attendance that Dr. Cort has probably spent more money investigating potential terrorists in the country than the Department of Homeland Security.

Both Dr. Williams and Dr. Cort discussed Osama bin Laden's America Hiroshima plan, in which he plans to blow up 10 American cities with suitcase nuclear bombs. They warned bin Laden's plan is real and the attacks may come soon.

On Saturday Dr. Cort, though not on the ballot, took part in the Iowa Straw poll where his staff manned a literature booth and Dr. Cort circulated through the crowd. Cort and members of his campaign team were able to get his information with regard to bin Laden's American Hiroshima plan to attendees of the Straw Poll as well as various members of the media including representatives of NBC, Fox and CNN. Cort's South Carolina Chairman, Dean Allen, personally delivered the information to Newt Gingrich.

At the Straw Poll Dr. Cort gave interviews to members of the Australian, German and Dutch media.

Dr. Hugh Cort is a counterterrorism expert and author of the book "Saddam's Attacks on America." Dr. Cort travels North America speaking about terrorism and what we must do to stop it.

Dr. Cort announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination on January 21, 2005 at the National Press Club.

Dr. Cort has campaigned in Iowa, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and Rhode Island and continues to build an active campaign organization. The campaign has volunteers and/or paid staff in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Alabama, South Carolina, Colorado, Oklahoma, California, Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Michigan, Rhode Island and Iowa.
