KENNEDY STATEMENT ON VETERANS DAY
Today, Senator Edward M. Kennedy released the following statement in observance of Veterans Day, which falls on Monday, November 12th.
"From Lexington to Concord to Normandy to Iwo Jima to Korea to Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan today, our Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard are part of a long line of courageous men and women who stood their ground with uncommon valor and gave so much for all of us. Today we especially remember these heroes, and we pledge to give all our veterans and their families the care they need and deserve.
Veterans Day is a time for all of us to reflect on the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform. They protect us, and we have a solemn responsibility to protect them and their families when they return home. Our veterans represent the best of America, and we owe each and every one of them an immense debt we must do our best to repay."
