ROSKAM STATEMENT ON EPA INVESTIGATION IN HANOVER PARK
Washington, Nov 20 - Congressman Peter J. Roskam (R-IL) today released the following statement regarding a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency investigation of potential methane gas releases in Hanover Park:
"The possibility of the presence of any methane gas releases in our neighborhoods is of the greatest concern to me. My staff and I have been in direct contact with all the involved entities including village officials in Hanover Park, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the DuPage Forest Preserve District.
"While I am relieved that testing so far has revealed no problems, I am anxiously awaiting the results of the continuing investigation, and I stand ready to help bring any resources I can to bear on this situation and to remedy any threat to safety of my constituents or the environment.
"I am committed to ensuring our neighborhoods are a safe and desirable place to raise a family."
