Fellow Fire Lighters,

Joseph Sobran writes:

If you want government to intervene domestically, you're a liberal.
If you want government to intervene overseas, you're a conservative.
If you want government to intervene everywhere, you're a moderate.
If you don't want the government to intervene anywhere, you're an extremist.

Using this definition, I am definitely an extremist - and proud of it. Not only that, I am also doing my best to convince other people to be extremists. My hero, Thomas Jefferson, said, "Extremism in pursuit of Liberty is no vice, and moderation in pursuit of justice is no virtue." What mother hasn't claimed that she would do ANYTHING to protect her children? Let's hear it for the extremists of the world, for they are the ones with the courage and tenacity to keep our government within its constitutionally prescribed limits.
