Fellow Fire Lighters,

News Flash! Badnarik ahead of Bush on Amazon Com!

Amazon.com has launched a new page on their website that lists ALL of the Presidential candidates for 2004, and allows people to donate money to their favorite candidate. The page has only been active for just over a week, however people have already donated over $900 to the Badnarik campaign. I am proud to announce that I am "ahead of Bush" in two different respects. First, since candidates are listed alphabetically, my picture appears before the President, giving me a slight psychological advantage. Second, I have collected more money than George Bush - admittedly because his campaign has not given Amazon permission to collect funds on their website. Anyway, now that Amazon has made it extremely easy to contribute, please help me "light the fires of Liberty" by donating as much as you can. Last year I traveled 10,000 miles on $5,000, so you can be certain that we're not wasting your money. There's not much time before the national convention in Atlanta, and it's going to take more money than I currently have to beat Gary Nolan and new-comer, Aaron Russo. Thanks in advance for your financial support.

Tuesday I was informed of a possible scandal regarding the Cass County (Missouri) Internet poll. In the past, Gary Nolan and I were both notified of attempted vote tampering. Each campaign has experienced votes from sequential IP addresses that were submitted 1/10 of a second apart. Clearly, someone was using a computer program in an attempt to skew the totals. Gary Nolan and I both responded by sending newsletters critical of those attempts, indicating that doing so eliminated confidence in the numbers, and made the poll virtually meaningless. Aaron Russo has decided to run on the LP ticket, and therefore his name was added to the January poll. Webmaster, Dave White, discovered several dozen votes from sequential addresses, all originating from the same college library. Those votes were removed, and Aaron Russo was informed of the action, and the reason why it was necessary. I am told that Mr. Russo's response was very hostile, and that he was accusing Dave White and Michael Ferguson of unethical conduct. I want to go on record as saying that I have the highest respect for White and Ferguson, and I feel that their character is highly ethical and above reproach. The results of the poll may or may not be indicative of membership support for a particular candidate, however I am confident that the poll is being honestly maintained. Having said all that, please go to <
