Nadler Applauds Spitzer Vindication; Calls for End to State Senate Witch-Hunt

Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) today hailed the vindication of Governor Eliot Spitzer and his aides by Albany County District Attorney David Soares. Citing Soares's finding that the Governor and his aides not only acted completely within the law, but also "within their authority in compiling and releasing documents to the media concerning the use of state aircraft," Rep. Nadler said, "This is a vindication of Governor Spitzer and his staff. I hope this will bring an end to the partisan attacks on the Governor by the Republicans in the State Senate. This Whitewater-esque partisan witch-hunt has served as a distraction from important state business for far too long, and should end immediately."
