WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator George Allen (R-VA) today lauded the Bush Administration for maintaining price protections for dairy imports in the recently negotiated Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
"I'm pleased that the Bush Administration listened to the concerns of American dairy farmers as they negotiated the terms of the Free Trade Agreement between the U.S. and Australia," Senator Allen said. "I will continue working to ensure that the hardworking dairy farmers and their families in Virginia and across our country are not forced to suffer through the undue hardships and job loss that would result from an imbalanced trade agreement. Free trade can be beneficial, so long as it is fair trade."
