John Kerry and Pennsylvania State Treasurer Barbara Hafer issued the following statement today in response to President Bush's visit to Pennsylvania:

"The Bush Administration has said repeatedly that sending American jobs overseas is good for America and good for the economy," said Hafer. "President George Bush could not be more wrong. America has lost 3 million jobs under his watch - in Pennsylvania alone, more than 54,000 jobs have been lost. For him to come here today and talk about a strong economy and increased funding to job training is ludicrous. On a visit to Pittsburgh, George Bush said that he got the economy going by passing tax cuts to 'lay the foundation for greater prosperity and more jobs' but all we've seen here in Pennsylvania is continued devastation and doubletalk."
