Kerry on Effort to Waive Cost of College Tuition and Fees for Massachusetts Veterans

Senator John Kerry today released the following statement on two bills being filed in the Massachusetts State Legislature.

"Massachusetts is setting an example that Washington should follow when it comes to keeping faith with our veterans," said Senator Kerry. "It would be an insult to our state's thousands of veterans if we allow them to struggle to afford a college education. A bill to waive the cost of tuition and fees for veterans who attend our state's public colleges and universities is a commonsense way to ease the financial burden. This is one small price we can pay at a time when we ask so much of our brave men and women in uniform. I strongly urge the entire state legislature to support these bills."
