Ros-Lehtinen Comments On New Regional Director of The Miami Passport Agency
Washington, DC --- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, senior member of the Florida Congressional Delegation, issued the following statement on the selection of a new Regional Director of the U.S. Department of State's Miami Passport Agency:
"We all share the hope that under the direction of new Regional Director Ryan Dooley, the Miami passport Office will continue tackling the terrible delays that have been so costly for my constituents and others across the country.
The new guidelines that were recently released should alleviate the processing of new passport applications, but we need strong leaders to implement an aggressive customer service plan that will assure that we continue offering the best possible service. During my recent visit to the Miami Passport Office, I saw their operations up close and met with top level officials who all promised better services in the months ahead.
Mr. Dooley and his professional and capable team have their hands full and if they continue to improve services, the ultimate jury will be a very pleased public that expects and deserves the very best from their government agencies."
Ros-Lehtinen and her aide on passport issues, Maggie Hernandez, recently visited the Miami Passport office to meet with the Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Issues, Ambassador Maura Harty; Deputy Assistant Secretary for Passport Services, Ann Barrett; Regional Director Stephanie Deaner; then Assistant Regional Director, Ryan Dooley; and Customer Service Manager, Ivette Rodriguez, and to thank them for their good work under exceptional circumstances.
