ALLARD COMMENTS ON THE NOMINATION OF MICHAEL MUKASEY TO BE THE NEXT U.S. ATTORNEY GENERAL

U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard (R-Colo.) made the following statement today in response to the nomination of Michael Mukasey by President Bush to serve as the next U.S. Attorney General:

"Based on what I have read and heard, President Bush has made a good selection and I look forward to learning more about Judge Mukasey throughout the confirmation process. It is my hope that the confirmation process will be fair and not drawn out. This important post needs to be filled quickly."
