KENNEDY ON THE SENATE FILIBUSTER OF THE D.C. VOTING RIGHTS BILL

Today, Senator Edward M. Kennedy released the following statement in response to the filibuster against the District of Columbia Voting Rights Bill.

"The filibuster against equal voting rights for the nation's capital is a stain on the Senate. It's a national shame that citizens in D.C. have no voice in Congress. D.C. citizens who are fighting today for democracy in Iraq should have democracy at home as well."
