ROSKAM URGES BUSH TO DECLARE DUPAGE AND COOK COUNTIES FEDERAL DISASTER AREAS
Washington, Sep 14 - Congressman Peter J. Roskam (R-IL) today joined with Illinois Representatives and Senators in sending a letter to President George W. Bush requesting that DuPage and Cook Counties, as well as other affected counties, be declared a Federal Disaster Area.
"Devastating storms last month ripped across DuPage and Cook Counties bringing massive rain fall, high winds and flooding, wrecking havoc across Illinois' 6th Congressional District," said Roskam. "I am pleased to finally see the Governor's request, and optimistic that the President will take swift action by declaring the affected counties Federal Disaster Areas. Federal resources are essential to the timely recovery of the many local families and businesses still recovering from this powerful storm."
