Barton Statement on Rep. Gillmor's Passing

U.S. Rep. Joe Barton, R-Ennis, made the following statement on the passing of U.S. Rep. Paul Gillmor, R-Ohio. Gillmor, who was on leave from the Energy and Commerce Committee, had served as chairman of the Environment and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee in the last Congress.

"Paul was a great friend and an excellent congressman. He had been a key leader on my committee and did outstanding work here as chairman of our Environment and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee. His soft-spoken, gentle wisdom will be greatly missed."
