Kerry Opposes OMB Nominee: Failed Fiscal Policies Shouldn't be Rewarded
Sen. John Kerry issued the following statement today, after voting against confirming former Congressman Jim Nussle as the next Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
"This White House has an abysmal record of fiscal irresponsibility from budget-busting tax giveaways for millionaires to turning record surpluses into record deficits and debt," Kerry said. "We need to restore fiscal sanity in Washington, and that won't happen if the Senate rubberstamps Jim Nussle's nomination. It's time to send a message to the Administration that we will not tolerate these failed economic policies."
