Sen. Dodd supports N.H. towns' climate change resolution
# Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., this week endorsed the climate change resolution being considered in 180 town meetings in New Hampshire. Thus far, 86 towns have passed one of these resolutions urging the president and Congress to establish "a national program requiring reductions of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions while protecting the U.S. economy" and to create "a major national research initiative to foster rapid development of sustainable energy technologies thereby stimulating new jobs and investment," Dodd's campaign announced.
Fire departments funds
# Dodd has also asked Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad and ranking member Judd Gregg to fully fund the Fire Investment and Response Enhancement Act and the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Act. The request asks to include $1 billion in funding for the FIRE Act and $1.126 billion in funding for the SAFER Act. Dodd's campaign stated this money would "help firefighters and departments in every state to meet the safety needs of their community, improve response time and reduce risk of accident through better training."
