BLUNT: SECURING OUR BORDER IS FIRST STEP TO IMMIGRATION REFORM

House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today after the Bush administration announced it would improve our nation's border security by adding personnel and infrastructure:

"House Republicans have remained united in laying out a clear a vision for immigration reform that reflects the will of the American people - a vision that directs us to secure our borders and respect the rule of law.

"Today, the Bush administration rightly provided some of the resources that will be needed to achieve this vision, in the process strengthening our homeland security and enlisting small business owners in this continuing fight for a sustainable immigration policy, and an enduring respect for our nation's sovereignty and its rule of law."
