Ros-Lehtinen Dismayed At Delta's Decision To Temporarily Suspend Air Service To Marathon Airport

Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen issued the following statement after being informed that Delta Airlines would temporarily suspend air service to Marathon Airport.

In some positive news, other airlines have both contacted the airport inquiring on providing air service.

Ros-Lehtinen and her staff were key players in getting Delta Airlines to re-start its flights to the Marathon Airport.

Said Ros-Lehtinen, "I am dismayed that the airline decided to take this action as an entire community's well being is interwoven to their decision. However, I remain optimistic as this is only a temporary suspension and the airline seem very interested in re-starting service once the peak winter season commences. I will continue working with the local elected officials to assure that any issues at the airport can be properly addressed."
