Heller's Statement on Bush/Kennedy Amnesty Proposal

Statement

Date: May 17, 2007
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Immigration

Today, U.S. Congressman Dean Heller (R-Carson City) made the following statement regarding the Bush/Kennedy amnesty proposal.

"I am greatly disappointed in the Bush/Kennedy amnesty proposal. A quick review of the initial language indicates this plan is nothing more than repackaged amnesty from the last Congress. Creating additional government programs to mask our country's very serious immigration problems does not make any sense when we are not enforcing the laws that already exist," said Heller.
