Gov. Heineman's Statement on Forecasting Board's Revised Estimate

Statement

Date: April 26, 2007
Location: Lincoln, NE

Gov. Dave Heineman commented today on the decision of the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board to revise state revenue estimates for the current fiscal year and the coming biennium up $15 million and $40 million respectively.

Gov. Heineman said, "Today's revised forecast is a signal that our state economy continues to grow and that is certainly good news. While the board's decision to fine-tune its earlier forecast indicates a positive outlook for our state, I believe it should not be a call for additional spending as we work to finalize the budget in the remaining weeks of the legislative session."
