PENCE PRAISES SUPREME COURT DECISION UPHOLDING BAN OF PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION

Congressman Mike Pence issued the following statement today praising the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the ban on partial birth abortion:

"Thanks to this landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court, we can say life is winning in America. The Supreme Court's decision represents an awakening of the conscience of a nation.

"This is the first true judicial victory for the unborn since Roe v. Wade. And despite the best efforts of the abortion rights movement, 34 years since Roe v. Wade more Americans embrace the sanctity of life than ever before.

"Soon the laws of this land will answer the call of every unborn heart and say with our Founders: ‘We choose liberty, the pursuit of happiness and the unalienable right to life.'"
