Democrat Budget is Nothing More Than Vintage "Tax and Spend" Policy

Rep. Tom Price (GA-06-R) issued the following statement after Democrats introduced their Fiscal Year 2008 Budget.

"This budget is nothing more than the most unprecedented tax hike in history," said Price. "The Democrats have taken a long look at over 40 straight months of economic growth - over 7 million new jobs and an unemployment rate at a near 40 year low - and have decided to reward this extraordinary success by taking more of the American taxpayer's hard-earned money. This would seem completely illogical except for the fact that supporters of this budget have no intent on reforming entitlement spending and every intent on appropriating billions more for failed social welfare projects.

"Rather than balancing the government's checkbook by spending less, Democrats prefer to avoid the tough decisions and replay vintage ‘tax and spend' policies from the past. They have picked up right where they left off when America fired their leadership in 1994. It is time we stop trying to pay for a larger government by balancing our massive bureaucracy on the backs of the American taxpayer."
