STATEMENT BY SENATOR EDWARD M. KENNEDY ON MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY

In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day tomorrow, Senator Edward M. Kennedy released the following statement:

"Tomorrow would have marked Dr. King's 78th Birthday. I join the nation in honoring his vision and leadership that enabled our nation to make extraordinary progress in living up to its highest ideals. He was the irresistible force that made the immovable object of segregation move. We who admired him so much can honor him the most by carrying on his work. Civil Rights is still the unfinished business of America."
