WASHINGTON, DC U.S. Senator George Allen (R-VA) today released the following statement following Senate passage of the conference report on S. 3, a bill banning Partial Birth Abortion:
"Late term, Partial Birth Abortion is a rare, gruesome procedure that the American Medical Association says is akin to infanticide. I'm pleased that this bill has finally passed. During my campaign for the U.S. Senate, I promised to support a ban on Partial Birth Abortions and I am glad that we have a bill that President Bush will sign. I'm pleased to help pass this reasonable measure which reflects the sensibilities and will of most Virginians and Americans."
